Katherine
(Kate) M. Richardson recently completed a Ph.D. in
Organizational Behavior at Baruch College, CUNY. She holds a BBA in
Accounting from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from Fordham
University, and has worked for Time, Inc., HBO and KPMG Peat
Marwick. For the 2008-09 academic year she was awarded a Writing
Fellowship at Baruch’s Bernard L. Schwartz Communication Institute.
She is currently interviewing for faculty positions and continues to
work on research.
Kate’s research focuses on the use of mobile communications
technology (MCT) in the workplace. She is interested in how MCT may
be blurring the distinction between work and non-work time, why some
individuals are more inclined to use these technologies, and what
the overall impact is to well-being. Other research topics of
interest include technology-mediated interruptions, multi-tasking,
cyber-loafing, career transitions, stress management and work-life
balance. |
